I Quit My Job - The Reason Why
I've been working as a Personal Trainer, at an amazing gym, with amazing management and staff, with a good salary and a few hours a week shy of full time. With me being qualified as a Personal Trainer, having been to University to get two degree's, one of them an MSc in Strength and Conditioning, and the freedom in the work place to run my own seminars, train clients whilst working to earn even more money, work with GP referred clients and to bring sports teams in, you would think I am crazy right? I am crazy... crazy about challenges, crazy about really getting what I want out of life, and crazy about not conforming.
So I quit. I handed in my notice last week, and in a few weeks I will have walked away from a really really good job, that most people would be happy to stay in for absolutely years.
But why?
I'm a business woman. I'm someone that needs to do tons of different challenges. I need different things each day, and I need to be my own boss. It really is as simple as that. I wouldn't say that I was miserable working, but I guess the best way to explain it is that just because you have a great job... it doesn't mean that you want a job. I simply do not want to work for anyone else when I have the skills, knowledge and ability to work for myself. I'm an entrepreneur through and through. I LOVE business. I thrive from putting ideas down and seeing them evolve.
I live for working 24/7 to get out of working 8 hours a day! I was living for my days off and my evenings just so I could work more.. but now.. I am going to be living for Monday mornings. I get excited about when I can work on my business's. It's that excitement and drive that makes me KNOW that I made the right decision.
I am 24, and to some people they see that as the time to get a mortgage, the time to settle down. I see this time as the time to take risks, and to take opportunities. I do not want to get to 40 and be stuck in a 9-5 that I dislike, wishing I had made my business's work.
So what exactly am I going to be doing with all my spare time? Well of course first of all I will be blogging. I'm going to be working with loads more companies to bring you loads more content! Secondly I will be carrying on with my online personal training - so creating training and nutrition plans for you guys, and continuing to mentor those that want to change their lives.
But the main thing I will be focusing on is making the two main business's that I Co-own with my partner, much much bigger!
BecauseRacecarBox is almost a year old and from a tiny piece of paper on the floor and about £20 worth of original stock we have created an incredible business with hundreds of monthly customers that expands in number each month! We have worked our socks off in the small amount of time we have been able to spend on it whilst juggling full time work, and I am so excited to see how massive this company will get!
Torque Human Performance is about 2 and a half years old, and still feels like my baby. It was started when we were both in University studying our MSc in Strength and Conditioning and we decided we wanted to work in motorsport but couldn't get any placements, work experience and there were barely any opportunities around. I gathered that if you couldn't get a job... you could create one. So the company was born. I am still so obsessed and hungry over training racing drivers and I just know that with the time put into it, we can grow this so much more.
This is such an exciting beginning. Quitting a job that is probably the perfect job for some simply seems the most logical thing to do right now! Wish me luck and please follow my business's on social media!
With Love,
Leanne xx
